My Location Tool

Terms of Service

These terms explain what the tools are for, the limits of location and map data, and the basic rules for using the service responsibly.

Last updated: September 18, 2026.

These Terms of Service apply when you access or use My Location Tool and its location, map, coordinate, conversion, distance, radius and route-related features. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and to understand the limitations described below. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service.

1. What the service provides

My Location Tool provides browser-based utilities intended to help users view a device-reported location, work with coordinates, look up mapped address information, convert coordinate formats, estimate straight-line distances, draw map radii and prepare links to external navigation services. Features may change as the site is improved.

2. Location and map results are estimates

Location data is not guaranteed to be exact. Results can be affected by GPS availability, Wi-Fi and cellular positioning, device hardware, browser settings, nearby buildings, map coverage, coordinate rounding and the quality of third-party geocoding data. An address returned for a coordinate can refer to the nearest mapped feature rather than the exact doorway, parcel or legal boundary where a person is standing.

Always compare important results with the map, the displayed accuracy information and an appropriate authoritative source. You are responsible for deciding whether a result is suitable for your purpose.

3. Not an emergency, surveying or safety-critical service

The site is not an emergency-location system and must not be relied on as the sole way to communicate your position in a life-threatening situation. It is also not a replacement for emergency services, certified land surveying, cadastral or legal boundary records, aviation navigation, marine navigation, professional engineering, public-safety dispatch, medical advice or other safety-critical systems.

4. Route and distance information

Straight-line distance, bearing and radius calculations are mathematical estimates based on the coordinates supplied to the tool. They do not account for roads, traffic, terrain, access restrictions, borders, closures or real-world travel conditions. When the site opens an external navigation provider, route availability and turn-by-turn directions are controlled by that provider and are subject to its terms.

5. Third-party maps, geocoding and external services

The site may use third-party services for map tiles, address search, reverse geocoding, directions, advertising, consent management, hosting, security or performance. Those services are operated independently and can change their data, terms, limits or availability without notice. My Location Tool does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee that an external service will always be available or accurate.

Links to external sites are provided for convenience. Visiting an external site means you are subject to that site's terms, privacy practices and technical behavior.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the site for ordinary personal, educational or business tasks that are lawful and do not harm the service or other people. You must not use the site to stalk, harass, threaten or unlawfully track another person; obtain location information without a lawful basis; interfere with the site; bypass security or rate limits; send malicious code; overload the infrastructure; impersonate another person; or use automated traffic in a way that unreasonably degrades the service for others.

If you operate software that sends repeated requests, you are responsible for respecting published rate limits, third-party provider policies and reasonable technical limits. Access may be limited or blocked when traffic threatens availability, security or compliance obligations.

7. Your inputs and responsibility

You are responsible for information you enter into search fields or choose to share from a result. Do not enter confidential information that is unnecessary for the tool. If you share a coordinate, address or location link with another person or service, you are responsible for that sharing decision and for verifying that the recipient is appropriate.

8. Intellectual property

The site's original interface, written explanations, branding and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws unless stated otherwise. Third-party map data, map tiles, names, trademarks and other materials remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to separate licenses or attribution requirements.

You may use the factual results produced for your ordinary purposes, subject to any third-party data terms that apply. These terms do not grant a right to copy the entire site, remove required attribution, misrepresent the service as your own, or redistribute protected components in violation of their licenses.

9. Advertising and sponsored content

The site may display advertising when advertising has been enabled. Advertising helps support operation of the service but does not change the calculation of a location or coordinate result. An advertiser is responsible for its own product, claim, website and transaction. The presence of an advertisement does not mean that My Location Tool guarantees or endorses the advertised product or service.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site useful and available, but continuous access is not guaranteed. Maintenance, provider outages, network failures, security events, traffic spikes or changes to third-party APIs can interrupt a feature. We may add, change, limit, suspend or remove a feature when reasonably necessary for reliability, security, legal compliance or product improvement.

11. No warranty

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that every result will be complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, My Location Tool is not responsible for losses caused by relying on an inaccurate location, address, route, map, coordinate conversion or third-party service when the user could reasonably verify the result before acting on it. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction.

13. Privacy

Use of the service is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains browser location permission, geocoding, technical logs, cookies, advertising and available privacy choices. Please review it before using a feature that shares precise device location.

14. Suspension and abuse prevention

We may limit or block access when reasonably necessary to protect users, infrastructure or third-party services, to respond to security incidents, to enforce rate limits, or to prevent unlawful or abusive use. A restriction may be temporary or permanent depending on the circumstances.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service, providers or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when a new version is published. Continuing to use the service after an updated version becomes effective means the new terms apply to later use, subject to any notice or consent that applicable law requires.

16. Mandatory rights and applicable law

These terms are not intended to remove rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer or data-protection law. If a mandatory local rule conflicts with part of these terms, that mandatory rule controls to the extent required while the remaining terms continue to apply.

17. Contact

If you have a question about these terms, a technical problem or a concern about misuse of the service, email [email protected] with the relevant page URL and a short description of the issue.
