How the distance is calculated
The calculator uses the Haversine formula to estimate the great-circle distance between two latitude-longitude points. It is appropriate for everyday geographic comparisons and does not trace roads.
Units included
The same result is shown in kilometers, meters, statute miles and nautical miles. The initial bearing indicates the first compass direction from the first point toward the second.
