This page starts with the position reported by your own device after you grant browser location permission. The map pin, latitude, longitude and accuracy estimate are shown together so you can check the result before copying or sharing it. Address information is added after the coordinates are available.
Read the accuracy value with the pin
The accuracy number is an estimate of uncertainty around the reported point. Outdoor GPS can be precise, while indoor positioning, desktop devices, weak satellite visibility, Wi-Fi positioning and privacy settings can widen the estimate. If the pin looks wrong, compare it with nearby roads or landmarks and try again from a clearer position.
Use the result in the format you need
The same position can be copied as decimal latitude and longitude, read as DMS or UTM, matched to an available address, or opened in an external map. Altitude, speed and heading appear only when the browser and device supply those values, so an unavailable sensor field does not mean the latitude and longitude are invalid.
Location permission remains under your control
The browser controls whether this page may access device location. Denying permission does not provide a position to the page. When you choose to use the tool, the coordinates needed for the result can be sent through the site's secure endpoint to the configured geocoding provider for an address lookup. The site does not publish your current location automatically.
